How do I dial mobiles vs landlines in Russia

Russia’s country calling code is +7. Russian national numbers are typically 10 digits in the format ABC + 7-digit subscriber number. The big “mobiles vs landlines” distinction is that landlines use geographic area codes (for example Moscow 495/499, Saint Petersburg 812), while mobile numbers use non-geographic mobile codes (commonly in the 9xx ranges). Within Russia, long-distance dialing commonly uses the trunk prefix 8 followed by the area/mobile code and the subscriber number (often written like 8 ABC XXX-XX-XX).
