How do I dial mobiles vs landlines in Nepal

Nepal’s country calling code is +977. To call Nepal from abroad, dial your international exit code (or press +), then 977, then the Nepali number. Landlines use geographic STD/area codes (Kathmandu Valley uses 1), while mobile numbers typically start with 97 or 98 (e.g., 98XXXXXXXX). Nepal’s international dialing prefix (to call out of Nepal) is commonly 00. 

For landlines, you’ll often see domestic formats written with a leading 0 before the city/STD code (for example, Kathmandu is commonly written 01… domestically). For international dialing, you generally omit that domestic 0 and dial the country code instead (so 01… → +977 1 …). For mobiles, domestic numbers are commonly written as 98XXXXXXXX / 97XXXXXXXX; from abroad you dial them as +977 98XXXXXXXX or +977 97XXXXXXXX.
